They claim battery life of 17k images.  That might be pure fantasy, though.  
All batteries self-discharge even if they are on no load.

Warning, you definitely want to mount the thing somewhere high enough that the 
bad guys can't
Grab it and steal it, or throw a brick at it and knock if off the house.

Actually a still photo would be fine, where the camera sees motion and snaps a 
photo.
