Hillsboro is in the midst of a municipal fiber build out, called HiLight. As of a year ago, they were 40% done with the footprint.
One of my entanglements is with an effort to get publicly owned last mile fiber in Portland, called Community Broadband PDX. We are going to have a campaign kick off on Saturday June 27, 10:30-1:30 at the Albina Branch Library, in NE Portland. It so happens that the General Manager of HiLight is planning to be there with some fiber cable and conduit samples, and presumably available to chat. -- Russell Senior [email protected] [email protected] On Wed, Jun 17, 2026, 15:59 George <[email protected]> wrote: > Okay, so out here in Hillsboro, there's pretty much only Ziply Fiber or (i > guess Comcast) for high speed internet. i've got a business account with > Ziply with a static ip for $75 (now $80 as of last month).
