Dude, I have no idea what you're talking about (vacuum tubes?). I started with 80286 with dos in 89', and started up with Linux in the last decade. I know that the repos mostly have x86_64 chipset architecture (modernish Intel or amd). I can't imagine anyone is still using i386 stuff outside of really old industrial equipment that needs to keep running. If I want another computer, I buy a used Dell m6800 laptop with an i7 processor for about $200 and put Linux xfce on it. -gbk
