mentioned something about re: [plug] fetchmail ?

| Try adding this to your .fetchmailrc:
| smtphost name.of.localhost
|
| This tells fetchmail to explicitly forward your mail to smtphost (in this
| case, your localhost).

but if you don't want to open up an smtp server in your machine,
you can always use the "mda" keyword in .fetchmailrc . this tells
fetchmail not to forward mail to any smtphost, but instead, to your
  local mail delivery agent (mail.local,procmail,maildrop,etc)

  e.g.

poll helios.iconn.com.ph with proto POP3
user 'manny' there with password 'YOURPASSWORD' is LOCALUSER here options flush
fetchall no rewrite stripcr warnings 3600 mda '/usr/bin/procmail -f manny -d LOCALUSER'

just replace YOURPASSWORD with your password of course, and LOCALUSER with
the user you use your pine with.

+ anyone without a sense of humor is at the mercy of everyone
  else.
