Hi all,

this is my first time to install XWindows in a slackware linux box, where
the X modules are not included during installation. previously, i include
Xwindows already upon installation of linux. i have already downloaded and
compiled X11R6.5.1 from x.org, then tried to configure it by looking for
xf86config and running it. but, when i try to start it by typing startx, it
says that "xinit: no such file or directory (errno 2): no server X in
path". if it is looking for xinit, it is on the same directory.

am i missing on something? do i still need to install a windows manager
(e.g. KDE)? kasi nga if X is included upon installation, we just choose if
we want KDE or GNOME. btw, im using an S3 PCI video card and i know that
this is supported.

thanks in advance.

raymond
