well, as far as the big "Oh" is concerned, I don't think that you really
need to know this but it helps you appreciate computer science more. don't
worry. What really matters is that you create interest in the students to
make them want to learn these things because if you do then it will just
becme natural. Like I said before, the school is a place to "learn how to
learn" therefore it is imperative that you create this sense of thinking
into your students then everything won't be much of a problem anymore.

anyway, like what sacha said, for ateneo, the school assumes no prior
programming experience therefore i suggest that you let your students have
good foundations in math and science at the same time creating interest
in them for computer science.
