hi,
Thanks to all those who offered tips in moving /usr
fs. I settled with mv, and everything seems fine. Now
Im putting up a new testbed server, but I cant seem to
get around the "kernel panic" thing. It reminds me of
my first linux installs back in college when such
crashes were more common than nowadays. Here's my
server specs:
motherboard: Asus P3V4X
hard disk: 20 GB Maxtor 52049H3
memory: 256 mb
processor: PIII 600MHz
Is there a known problem with the above? During
installation, I get a kernel panic upon loading root
fs. Other lines that might be of interest says:
VP_IDE - not 100% native mode, checking irqs later
This appears before the ide disks were detected.
Im using redhat 6.1. Tips please.
A lot of thanks..
Mary Christie
