Try adding either:  append="hdc=none hdd=none"
or this line:       append="hdc=noprobe hdd=noprobe"

in /etc/lilo.conf, run "/sbin/lilo -v" and then reboot.

Please note that THIS "FIX" IS UNTESTED... I just got the hint
from /usr/src/linux/Documentation/ide.txt. =)
