#_ Merry christmas and happy new year to everyone on PLUG. As many of you
#_ know, I co-own and operate an inet cafe that uses Linux for the gateway
#_ and also to provide accounting service.
#_
#_ One of my minor annoyances with Linux is the way it handles file system
#_ errors on startup if for some reason the system gets halted abnormally for
#_ soem reason (e.g. power failure). I want to get rid of that "enter root
#_ password to continue" message, so that any errors that might occur fsck
#_ tries to fix as expeditiously as possible, WITHOUT ANY USER INTERVENTION.
#_ I don't want to have to walk one of my Unix-illiterate employees through
#_ fscking the system manually ever again.
#_
A UPS would be a good idea. Since I don't have one, I put this in my
crontab: "* * * * * root /bin/sync" I noticed less errors during power
outages.
