AFAIK the latest versions of IMP support not only IMAP but also POP3. A
simpler application is out there and is also pretty good. SquirrelMail
<http://www.squirrelmail.org/>. It is also based on PHP, but AFAIK doesn't
use any database, which may make configuration a whee bit easier. :)
