Asia Pacific College has completed signing of its technical partnership with german 
linux' maker local counterpart SuseLabs Phil. to become part of its open source 
software research centers in line with the company's effort to reach out to its linux 
roots through its opensystems academic initiative.  The goal of the programme's was to 
establish a customary linkage bet. academe and industry to spur innovation and free 
interaction consistent to the best experience of silicon valley meets 
university-college tradition.  Under the agreement, the Suselabs Phils. will jointly 
develop's and revised APC's core computer sciences discipline by putting them in line 
with the best practices of open source software engineering through student's 
participation to its in-house global software projects. The agreement also seeks to 
open its strong Linux certified professional programme in an effort to address the 
limited linux expertise and talent the industry requires todate.  The linux center 
will now start offering core SuSE linux disciplines centered on linux systems 
administration, distributed solutions and enterprise managment, systems integration, 
hi-availability clustering and parallel computing applications using SuSE's SALT 
project. Training schedules officially starts 22 Jan 2001.
