#_ Hello all,
#_
#_ False alarm. This is the DEFAULT 2.4.1 distribution from kernel.org. It
#_ DOES boot, it just suppresses all the boot messages that I know and
#_ love!! (still there in the dmesg, though, but I thought the
#_ kernel was "stuck" booting because I didn't see anything for a
#_ long time).
#_
#_ Since when did this happen? I'm also using 2.4.1 on my personal machine
#_ and on THAT machine (with the .config from 2.4.0) the boot messages do
#_ appear. Arguably, not having boot messages makes for a cleaner-looking
#_ boot. But I'm a geek! I *miss* those boot messages!

Those boot messages is why I switched to linux in the first place!! ;->
Maybe there's a new entry in /usr/src/linux/.config that togles the messages
on or off?
