thanks it works now! :) but how did this happen? It was working fine
before. But last sat the server crashed then after that this error went

on the prompt enter the following :
TERM=VT100
export TERM
or ... if you would like it to be permanent ...
add
TERM=VT100
export TERM
into you /etc/profile
