Ball Bearing or Sleave Bearing ?
Each fan uses two bearings which form the connection between
the rotating shaft and the fan housing. One bearing in front and one in the back.
Ball bearings use tiny metal balls to form this connection, sleeve bearings use oil
lubrication. Here are the features of both types:
Noise level
Ball bearing High, but steady throughout lifespan
Sleeve bearing Low, but getting higher through lifespan
ElanVital's standard fan type uses a combination of the above
mentioned bearing types, so one ball bearing and one sleeve bearing in the same fan.
This combination enables a reliable fan at an attractive price level. The Mean Time
Between Failure (MTBF) of this fan type is 40.000hrs. For applications where high
reliability of the fan is an absolute must all ElanVital fan models can be equipped
with a double ball bearing type of fan. The MTBF of this type of fan is 60.000hrs.
