The old Turbo C 2.0 that everyone uses in C programming classes doesn't
comply with ANSI C, for the simple reason that it was produced before the
final standard was completed. They used an old draft standard that is
*more or less* like the actual C standard that did get ratified. They
have a number of non-ANSI extensions to the standard as well (just as GCC
does), in addition to a screen library (whence getch and clrscr), a
graphics library, and a number of other miscellaneous oddments.
