#_ I don't think there are shrink-wrap (or should I say tar-wrap?)
#_ packages for POS available, as most businesses would require software
#_ customized to their needs. I once wrote such a custom system for
#_ managing video rentals for a friend with perl and postgres. It was a
#_ job that took no more than two weeks for me (on a tremendously
#_ underpowered machine) and less than 1000 lines of Perl code. I think
#_ that most POS software for small to medium-scale businesses should be
#_ typical in terms of complexity. Should not be too hard to make them
#_ yourself, or hire out someone to do it for you (hint, hint :)

Yeah, it's about time we patronize PLUG members. Tell them exactly what you
need and have them submit proposals. Of course, if you can do it yourself
