It's ok for NICs to share an interrupt, IF THEY ARE PCI NICs.
Interrupt-sharing on ISA cards is very iffy because ISA is edge-triggered
(meaning an interrupt can occur while another one is being processed)
while PCI is level-triggered (like a "keep the balloon up" monostable
multivibrator) so interrupts can't clobber each other.

The short story is: you must boot to DOS, use 3c5x9cfg.exe (from the 3com
driver disk) to turn OFF Plug-and-Play on your ISA NICs, and manually
assign IRQs and IO ports for each one. After that, things should be
handy-dandy.

p.s. that's really ancient hardware you got there (3c509!!) maybe you
should ditch it. a PCI NIC only costs 400 pesos.
