#Would you know any place that has information on this?

I've got a speculation on this. M$ sees Java, and Linux as it's closest
rivals in it's various niche markets -- from the smallest, to the bigger
machines. Where do FireWire, and USB come in? Well, IBM (USB) has been
doing some aggressive positioning in Java (alphaworks.ibm.com), and Linux
markets. It could be that M$ is trying to capitalize on their control
over the desktop operating systems, and use their recent move not to
support USB as a bargaining chip. I won't be suprised if M$ releases a
patch, or should I say service pack, for USB support -- of course when IBM
gives in to whatever M$ is asking for.

stay cool.
