What they mean is that they won't help you get DSL to your Linux box, i.e.,
you're mainly on your own. How you proceed depends on how the DSL connection
goes into the PC. If it's anything like cable, there's probly an external modem
which you connect to your Network Interface Card (NIC). Then, you either assign
a static IP (not likely) or set up your Linux box to obtain its address from a
DHCP server. The tricky part is that they might install Enternet 2000 (or
something similar), a Windows application on your PC to connect to them -- yup,
it's not an always-on connection. As far as I can tell, Enternet 2000 is PPPoE
(PPP over Ethernet), so if you can set Linux up for PPPoE, you should be OK.
Note that most of this is theoretical. If their DSL modem is internal, you'll
have to hunt down Linux drivers. If they don't employ PPPoE, then DHCP should
get you connected. Suggest you install the thing under Windows if you can, then
look at the setup, and we can proceed from there. Might also be more info on
their Web site.
