Greetings,
This summer Asia Pacific Linux Users Group (APLUG) together with Asia Pacific College,
IBM and SuSE Philippines Inc. is planning a large event to promote Linux.
We are targeting students with fresh minds (Unexposed Windows users) from colleges in
Metro Manila.
It's a kind of big event were trying to make here...if you know what I mean ^_^
The project would run like this:
- We gather-up School Organizations and if possible, have a simultaneous
Mini-Linuxfest in thier respective schools. This series of Mini-Linuxfests is
tentatively scheduled to begin on June 14, 2001
The Mini-Linuxfests in the different schools would have seminars on the features,
advantages, history of Linux, and also touch on basic networking concepts. We will
also be selling ISO distributions, and Installations
We are still open to ideas.
APLUG is going to have a meeting
When : May 19 & 26, 2001; 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Where : Asia Pacific College, Magallanes Village, Makati City
(along South Superhighway, beside Shell in Magallanes);
Room 209
We will be needing all the help we can get to make this event possible, since its
summer, and the organizing of organizations from the different schools is difficult.
Those who wish to help out(Installations, Seminar speakers, etc)
Please spread te word for this event to make it sucessful
