Dear [plug],
This is in response to the chain of emails from this specific email sent
by JM. Now these emails reminded me of a time when I first joined
[plug]. I beleive I have good reason to send this email to both [plug]
and [ph-linux-newbie] lists. If you feel that this was highly un
appropriate I would understand if you took me out of the [plug] and
[ph-linux-newbie] user groups.
First off, I am a Linux user. I have been using linux for about 2 to 3
years now (I think...). I am not new to linux, but I certainly don't
know alot about it either. But I'm kinda proud that I'm comfortable at
the command line, don't know how much it says about me being a Linux
user[=)]. When I was invited to join [plug], I was more then delighted
to know that there were poeple out there that shared the same concepts
and ideas as I do. When I first started out on [plug] I knew much less
about linux before then I did today, let alone about [plug]'s rules.
When I first started I had been mistakenly sending email in HTML form.
Later I got an email from one of the [plug]'s admins. (i think) telling
me that my emails looks like "$#!t" to most of the poeple in the [plug]
since most of the poeple on [plug] used text based email. This
disheartened me, I felt that I had committed such a large atrocity that
I didn't want to continue subscribing to [plug]. In fact I almost did
that, but I didn't. I guess all I'm trying to say is this:
"Why is it that when one person feels like he/she knows more then another
they immediatly have the right to take advantage of the other?"
Its like a teacher getting mad a student for not knowing tommorrow's
lesson. I'm not speaking of the teacher spoon feeding the student. I
am speaking more in terms of the teacher having compasion toward the
student for not being fully prepared.
I hope I am in no way offending anyone. I am just sharing what I feel i
very important to [plug], a users group that gives free unbaised
information to anyone who may come around to get it.
sincere thanks and gratitude,
wakks escay
