[plug] Bind 9.1.2 compilation error

hi guys,   i tried to install bind 9.1.2   set the command $./configure It outputs these statements:   loading cache ./config.cache checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnuoldld checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes checking for ranlib... : checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking for ar... no configure: error: ar program not found.  Please fix your PATH to include the directory in which ar resides, or set AR in the environment with the full path to ar.                                                                              $   how can i hack this? pls help. tnx   mark
