I stopped crying and did some testing and found out how SNMP calculates
uptime. It does so by itself. Meaning: the uptime reported by `uptime` is
the uptime of the system as per the kernel. The uptime reported by
`snmpwalk localhost public` is the uptime reported by snmpd is the time
that the snmp daemon has been running.
It was pretty easy for me to figure this out. I ran 'snmpwalk localhost
public | grep sysUpTime' and remembered the data. Stopped snmpd. Started
snmpd. Reran snmpwalk. Voila! Uptime was back to zero. Argh.
Now I wonder why it didn't just check the kernel for that information
since it checks the kernel for information like system.sysDescr.0 anyway.
