html mail is just a specially formated MIME mail. you should have
something like this in your headers.

Content-Type: multipart/alternative;
        boundary=unique-boundary-1

in the body of your mail, have something like.

--unique-boundary-1
Content-type: text/plain

text content

--unique-boundary-1
Content-type: text/html

html content

usually you put both a text content and an html content. read on rfc1341
to learn more about mime. or you could use MIME-tools if you're using
perl.
