Very good choice from the moral and ethical standpoints. Why? Because when
you decided you did not like a closed source alternative, you found an
open source alternative. This is the same as going from Windows to Linux,
and is A Good Thing (tm). ;>

Well, it's still their closed source software, right? So whether they
charge US$ 1.99, US$ 19.95, or US$ 199.50 is up to them. It's up to _us_
to choose whether we will let it get rammed down our throats or not. And
talking about ramming down throats: Micro$oft comes to mind.

None of this justifies piracy, though, IMO.

There you go! (And thanks for that statistic!) :)

On the "Linux and Opera" side, though: I'm hoping the kiosk-mode of Opera
for Linux will be improved soon. I'm attempting to redesign an initial
prototype I made for UP Manila that used Netscape 4.x. Objective: it boots
up, runs Linux, then goes straight to the browser and only the browser.
Browser closes or X gets forcibly shut down? Reboot. The current setup
already allows this, but I'm not happy with Netscape (and me having to
cover up the menu using XPMs). It seems Opera can handle this better (not
to mention it feels lighter and more responsive). Changes to the ini file,
for example, can toggle menu display. Put this in operarc.fixed and ...
<smile>.
