Maybe it's because I am using XFree86 4.1.0 with the antialiasing support
(which I can't get to work BTW..)

No, I don't mean console framebuffer. The video card has 32MB on it, and
this entire framebuffer is mmap()'ed into the memory space of the Xserver,
increasing its size by 32MB.

I guess the fact I'm also running DRI contributes to the bloat... =\
