hi christie,

in your case, in order for your remote users to see the server they have to be on the
same subnet.
have you tried using virtual ip?
 ifconfig eth0:0 192.168.0.x # x - remote ip
route add -host 192.168.0.x dev eth0

it works for me, my remote users was able to see my server.

carlo

If the server's local ip at the ppp port is same as my
ethernet ip, they wont be able to ping it. below:

         --------------- (ttyS0: 192.168.0.1)
 eth0 - | dialin server | ----- // ---- 192.168.1.2
         --------------- (remote)
 192.168.0.1

But if I assign the local and remote peer ip from a
different subnet as my eth0, they can only ping my
ppp0 ip but not my eth0:

         --------------- (ttyS0: 192.168.1.1)
 eth0 - | dialin server | ----- // ---- 192.168.1.2
         --------------- (remote)
 192.168.0.1

ill probably try portslave once i got this thing
working :)

christie
