Even when I was using RedHat I _never_ used the RPM-based kernels. Now
that I'm using Debian I still haven't convinced myself to use the kernel
packaging tool to package my kernels. I don't know why. Katamaran, I
guess.

But then it's because the Linux kernel is easy enough not to package, plus
you can go get the Alan Cox patches or the pre-releases if you want. It's
easy to remember where things go: /lib/modules/x.y.z, /boot/bzImage-x.y.z,
/boot/System.map-x.y.z. :)
