Conduct several test such as:
1. Pinging the ssh server from your workstation
2. Pinging another machine from your workstation. This is to check that you
can really talk to the network.
3. Telnet to the ssh server and use port 22 or if you've configured
sshd_config to listen to another port, then use that port
4. On your ssh server, do a ps ax|grep sshd
5. also, netstat -nat and check if your system is listening on port 22
6. lastly, on your console, type:
INSTALLED=`rpm -qa|grep openssh` && echo "Yes, I know it is installed :p"
