I just discovered something nasty (talagang Principle of Least
Astonishment in action).

If you have plugger installed (from here):
http://www.hubbe.net/~hubbe/plugger.html

this will *break* MP3 streaming. RedHat in their infinite wisdom included
Plugger 3.2 in RedHat 7.1 -- unfortunately streaming is broken; besides,
Netscape/Mozilla + XMMS is the best way to handle streaming MP3's. Took me
a *while* to figure that out.. grrrr..
