Hello!

I don't know if this was brought-up before but was it here or was it at
linux10 that someone mentioned about AdMU Linux being the only Linux distro
that you can use directly from the CD. I forgot who said it though.

But in case you don't know, I think Slackware has been doing it for years.
In fact I have a Slackware 3.6 CD from November 1998. You won't get it by
downloading ISO images from Slackware download sites though. in the old
days, you need to buy the Official Slaskware Linux distro made by Walnut
Creek, but I think now that Slackware is now a company itself, it is by
ordering from them that you would be able to get one of those CD, and it
costs around $35 without shipping cost. I got Slackware 3.6 last summer of
1999 for 999 pesos from Data Blitz, (well Slackware 3.6 was the latest from
Slackware during that time).

Know any other distro that can boot on a CD and would give you a full Linux
system (including X and a bunch of apps)? These kind of things can be a
great tool. You can go to a Windows-using friend and boot from the CD to
demo Linux. You might even be able to convince him to trash Windows and use
Linux instead. ;) And it's handay just incase you cant boot Linux from your
hard drive, like you forgot to run lilo after recompiling you kernel and
replacing the old boot kernel with the new one.
