there's a good intermediate PHP e-book called "Web Application
Development with PHP 4.0" that you can download at:

it's a 6mb PDF and it's around 480 pages but it's worth printing as
it covers real-world web dev't topics like for examples, session
management... for the wannabe gurus out there, there's also a
section on hacking the PHP core...
PHP is not ASP on linux... ASP is based on VB while PHP takes
many good elements from C, Java, and Perl...
