Oh shucks. Maybe you can e-mail it to me personally? I'm a young budding
system administrator, hoping to do consulting and setup contracts. Heehee.

If the client wants x and you, as the supposed expert thinks x is wrong
and y should be the choice, will it not be proper for you to discuss _why_
the client should choose y instead of x and help them see your side? Or in
the process see that in the end see something you didn't initially see
about "why x" and thus agree that x is the correct way to go?

If the company knows what is right for them, then what are you there for?
If you're just there to install and setup, then you're a technician. If
you're there for planning, installation and setup, and maintenance, you're
a true consultant. At least in my view.

It depends. Considering the extra loaded maintenance I'd have to go
through as part of the "maintenance period" in the contract then yes, I'd
probably say no, unless I see the logic behind the choice. And by "logic
behind" I don't mean their money. Unless of course I'm going hungry. In
which case I'd install Windows if they wanted it.
