yes you can host it (tell dns administrator to point
the proper A records )

if you do host your own domain. tell dns administrator
to point the proper mx records

Get an MTA ( qmail, postfix, exim, sendmail etc )

but i suggest you get qmail (www.qmail.org - secure
(the only mta with NO KNOWN exploit whatsoever) fast
and very reliable. IT IS EASY TO INSTALL ( those who
say it is not easy, doesn't know how to read and
should not be installing an mta nor using *nix :) )

and yes you try to use postfix too easier to install
and more newbie friendly

if you are not hosting your own domain
ask those who host it to make you emails forward it to
your own email or even give you pop3/imap access or
even webmail access.

if you have a decent connection (a fast one) go host
your site ( pro's really outweights the con's) the
good people in plug (HOPEFULLY ) will help you :)

-Dek
irc - type /server upcm.net then type /j #plug
