Hi everyone, Is anyone here using an automated fax send/receive software for Linux that is -not- HylaFax?
I am currently using HylaFax v4.1 and it works pretty well in the receiving part (the server automatically receives faxes and sends the documents converted to PDF to an e-mail address checked by admin personnel). However I find that it's very cumbersome to set up for sending out faxes, which I'd like the workstations in the LAN to be able to do whether from Linux or from Windows. HylaFax has clients for this but I can't seem to get it to properly send out faxes, especially if the target is a fax machine (and not a computer). It would also be great if I could configure both dial-up lines to multi-task as incoming/outgoing fax modems, as well as dial-in (via mgetty+AutoPPP). Eric Pareja has recommended I stay away from such evil, but am wondering if anyone else has tried and either failed or succeeded at such an attempt. Also in the line of faxing: aside from a "server" setup for outgoing faxes, would anyone have info on the more personal type software for sending faxes like efax? I've not tried this at all and am setting up a kiosk that will have a modem and will run StarOffice. I'm wondering if I can make it fax out without using a fax machine. :) Thanks in advance! :) --> Jijo -- Federico Sevilla III :: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Network Administrator :: The Leather Collection, Inc.
