Hello!
Personally i picked postfix over qmail over its ease of configuration...on qmail 1.03, configuration is "distributed" over about half a dozen files...i think each sub process(am i using the correct terminology?) has its own config file kasi. There were some concerns about postfix's licensing though -- it's definitely not GPL'd; i think the author did this with support from IBM. btw, i've seen the postfix book does exist(at Macromind to be exact) New Riders ata ang publisher...not as fat as the Sendmail book though. btw....what the hell's Aramaic? --- Orlando Andico <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On Mon, 1 Oct 2001, Pablo Manalastas wrote: > .. > > It is the oldest and most mature. > > "This steam engine is backed by over a hundred years > of engineering > innovation." > > > It is the most hacked and so most patched/fixed. > > "Windoze is continually updated due to continual > hacking." =) > > .. > > It is the most powerful, if you can understand > sendmail.cf. > > And on that day, I'll understand Ancient Aramaic. > =) > > > It has the most documentation - just check out the > "fat" sendmail book. > > There's a fat postfix book too. > > > A great number of sites use it. > > Because it's the stock install on RH. > > > If postfix is a BMW, then sendmail is a Mercedes > Benz. > > No, I would say sendmail is a big Cadillac -- > gas-guzzler, very soft ride, > but not up to standards of German engineering. > > Sorry, couldn't resist. =) > > > -- > Orlando Andico <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Mosaic Communications, Inc. > > _ > Philippine Linux Users Group.
