Not a teacher, more like a teaching assistant :^)

About 2 weeks worth...(j.k. ;^).)
But really -- python is really *easy* -- if you don't believe me,
ask ESR -- check out this piece he wrote about the time he learned
Python...

http://noframes.linuxjournal.com/lj-issues/issue73/3882.html

OTOH, I don't want to start a perl/python flamewar here, so if
you don't agree with his opinions, siya yung awayin nyo ;^)

The bad news is that the Zope Code (written in Python as well as C)
is medyo intense (parang linux kernel code -- I may know C, but that
doesn't mean I can hack the kernel just because its written in C).

There's a good reason Zopistas keep mentioning the "Zen of Zope"
because its pretty likely you have to keep banging your head
for a while before reaching "s'tori" and start grokking Zope code.

The hard part about Zope is conceptual -- yung architecture,
design patterns and idioms na ginamit nila in order to build
it -- not the Python language itself.

The good news is that you don't need to get to that level before
being able to appreciate Zope. The Python knowledge level to be
able to use and extend Zope is much much lower...

Also, there's already documentation (as well as a very active
and supportive community of users) about how to use and
extend Zope so at least you have enough help to get you
started towards the path of "Zope enlightenment" ;^)

Since most of the people interested here have already some
familiarity with a programming language, this book
(downloadable as HTML/PDF/etc with an Open
Content License) is *highly recommended* -- kasi, hindi na
kayo bi-ne-baby with "hello, world" examples... but
with "real-world" but simple programs...

HTH!

BTW, I'm also okay kung Saturdays niyo gawin yung time for
the study group...

Best regards,

Butch
