similar to private ip address translations, there are such
things as private AS (autonomus system) Number translations
which can be performed with your upstreams for you and
therefore avoid the trouble of getting a live one from
APNIC.  but it's a quick and dirty hack.

again, as migs said, bgp is mandatory if you host servers
with access patterns similar to web,ftp,etc.  the
exceptions are namely smtp & dns because you can rely on
multiple DNS records with different ip addresses given by
your upstreams.

if you dont need bgp, get the 2.4 kernel that does network
address translation as migs proposed. but you should bug
him instead because i have yet to experience how to do
that.
