hey manny.
yup, fetchmail automatically deletes mail from your server unless you give it a "-k" option. thing is, where are you running pine? on your local host i presume? you can verify if they were delivered to the proper mailbox i.e. /var/spool/username by checking your /var/log/maillog file. otherwise, you have to configure sendmail properly. running fetchmail like you did should spool all those fetched mail messages to the inbox of the invoking user, so you can start checking there. my hunch is that all your "popped" messages through fetchmail are in your sendmail queue because it cant find the proper inbox to go to. you can verify this by running "mailq". as regards configuring sendmail, i'm not much into it. postfix kasi gamit ko lagi eh. one more thing, "sendmail start" wont run because you're running the /usr/lib/sendmail binary (most probably). you have to call "/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail start" to run the daemon...unless of course, there's a misconfiguration somewhere. --vince.
