I don't use Exim, but I think AMaViS supports Exim as well. I'm using AMaViS (with McAfee's uvscan) now with Postfix on Debian GNU/Linux and find it's really great. I had to create my own packages for a number of archaic archival tools that AMaViS needs to be able to scan stuff hidden in such archives sent by mail, and had to create a package (very crude, though) for AMaViS too as none exist for Debian to my knowledge. But with that it was smooth sailing (and the documentation for AMaViS is pretty okay for Postfix). Would you by any chance have any information to share in "MailScanner vs AMaViS" style? > I sent myself a couple of viruses (I get a Sircam every week or so), > and it caught them, quarantined them, and sent along a nice message to > the intended recipient (with the virus removed), the original sender, > and the postmaster. In this regard it's in the same boat as AMaViS I guess. Including sending the postmaster informational message about virus-infected mail. Makes people wonder how I know what they're infected with. Down to the detail of what virus, and coupled with NAI's virus library, including how that particular virus works. Hahaha. :) > Anyway, thanks for the tip, I hope to offer this as an added service > for my customers. I think more and more people should either shift to Linux, or get services from people like you (and me? hahaha!). It's hard to understand the logic behind the popularity of Windows given the viruses that so easily infect it. --> Jijo -- Federico Sevilla III :: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Network Administrator :: The Leather Collection, Inc.
