I made a few experiments in literate programming, which may go a certain way towards writing better code. As Don Knuth described it, literate programming represents a conceptual shift in writing programs: "Instead of imagining that our main task is to instruct a *computer* what to do, let us concentrate rather on explaining to *human beings* what we want a computer to do." You can see the results of my experiments at http://xml-lit.sourceforge.net/, which is an attempt to write a literate programming system based on XML. -- Rafael R.
