It's like this -> anything that does not get installed automatically by
the default configuration of a distro has to be done manually. This can be
computed simply by man hours, and depends on how much a consultant charges
for his time.

Stuff like mail, ftp, http, ssh come as defaults in a linux box.  So the
basic price of 3-5K may apply.  Stuff like tripwire or vpn or dns
configuration for an internet service, plus hookup to an ISP - that's what
is going to cost you, as they are not part of the default package.
