If you download, read and master the Guides, HOWTOS
and
FAQS for the Linux Documentation Project (local mirror

is http://ldp.leathercollection.ph ) like The Linux
Network Administrator's Guide, Second Edition, Linux
System Administration Made Easy, or The Linux System
Administrators' Guide, you do not need to buy a book
to learn Linux system administration. Better still,
buy the LDP Documentaton CD from Jijo Sevilla and
study the contents and in the meantime, you can also
master the contents of RUTE, at
http://rute.sourceforge.net. It's free for personal
use.

Of course you need to practice in a real-world
sysadmin
environment to validate your book knowledge.
