So how does this Guim guy's reasoning work? You can setup an MS solution
in fewer manhours and is thus better? With MS, you may get out of the box
solutions that work (initially) but whatever you save in manhour cost is
probably lost in license fees. Sure, you may spend a bit more in setting
up and tweaking a linux solution but you save on licenses. In the end,
total cost of ownership is lower and more predictable.

One thing I appreciate having shifted from MS to Linux (in the desktop
environment) is that all aspects of my system are open for me to look
into, learn about and possibly tweak. An added plus for me is that
shifting to linux came with a very eager and open community (read: PLUG &
PH-LINUX-NEWBIE). :)

In the end, IT solutions are as varied as the client's needs. I doubt if
anyone can say that there are one or two ways around every problem.
