I was asking Migz, with regards to his swap thrashing while compiling. He might get better results (less thrashing) with 2.4.16. #_ yes, back then it was the one that had the filesystem corrupting bug #_ (exact version forgotten, but google knows. google knows everything #_ :). after the crash and corruption i reinstalled back to 2.4.8 that #_ comes with mandrake, and then up to 2.5.0. haven't gotten around to #_ upgrading any further. don't really need to. i just upgraded from #_ 2.4.8 because there were some things i needed that weren't in the #_ stock kernel (or maybe they were and i just upgraded due to #_ superstition). #_ #_ tiger Filesystem corruption happened in 2.4.15, which was promtly fixed with 2.4.16-pre1, then a couple of days later 2.4.16 came out, which is what I'm using now. -- Juan Miguel Cacho [EMAIL PROTECTED] Paraaque City, Philippines GnuPG Public Key Key ID 7B071F7F http://www.philonline.com/~chocovim/pancitmolo.pgp Drive safely. 90% of people are caused by accidents. _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
