Developing free software for the theses project is great, IMHO.  What I don't
like in most of the colleges and universities all over the Philippines is that
most of them requires "only" to develop a database system (payroll, sales &
inventory, etc.) from a prefered company that they would want to conduct the
study.  Why not they encourage the students to develop like AI projects or any
software that is not only database related system?

Actually, I know their point also why they require the students to conduct a
study from a particular company.  It is actually one way to practice and develop
the students' skills in systems analysis.  But it would also possible to conduct
a study that is not only focusing on a database side, am I right?  Why not
(also) conduct a study in an ISP?
