migs,
i got my two personal programs here which are in production used for sky
internet and zpdee. i wrote these two because i am not happy on the current
availability of open-source program on the net with its performance. these
two are:
1. counter-strike anti-WON authentication
i wrote this program because the one previously used is free but
unfortunately it is laggy, not an open-source (a binary one) and running as
a root. my program solved those three issues... this program is useful if
you want to offer an on-line counter-strike gaming without WON
authentication.. meaning if your clients dont have a valid WON id (pirated
copies), still they can play your counter-strike game server. this is good
for an ISP to earn more revenue because your subscribers takes time to play
longer than other services you offered. this program run where your
half-life server runs too. it can be run on linux or freebsd without
modification.
2. top urls parser for squid's access.log file
there are lots of availability in squid web site about getting the
top urls but the problem is that, it took so many hours to finish for a huge
access.log file.. this program took only an average of 33 seconds for a half
of a gigabyte of daily access.log file compare to an hour or more to other
utilities on the same hardware (P3-500mhz, 9gig scsi). this program is
useful if your proxy server dont have the capability of prefetching...
getting those top urls and prefetch it always (with the help of wget) early
in the morning gives you a faster response time to your subscribers. this
program is ansi C and posix compliant therefore it can be compiled to any
platform without modification.
im plannig to give it away as an open-source due to the spirit of
christmas. :-> but im looking forward that plug have a central repository
for pinoy made open-source programs just to show to the open-source
community how pinoys are active on this matter. usually i wrote programs
during my spare time and im personally force myself to write one if im not
happy on the current availability of open-source program with its
performance for the sake of quality of service... but of course, this is not
my current job to write programs :-> just let me know if you are interested
on these two and ill send it over to you to place it in a central
repository.
fooler.
+ december is the wonderful month of the year
