i read somewhere that there are AT Commands for nokia phones that are similar 
to regular modem AT commands, except with some cell-specific extentions, like 
for sending SMS etc. but i think you'd need to have a driver installed for a 
particular phone installed just like any other device, before you can use the 
AT command set. i forgot the exact url's but they should be easy to find 
using google. but then again, i haven't tried them out yet, so i can't be 
certain how they work...

haven't had time yet but i was planning to do something similar on java, 
something like an admin utility that will be able to text the sysad everytime 
a web site goes down or something. nifty tool sana, if i had the time...
