okay qmail+ldap handles this nicely the user is located by the attribute uid + 
mailHost 

if you are so accustomed with vpopmail's way of adding users and adding domain
there are admin softwares that immitates this for qmail ldap .. ex are those that came 
from ender unix
and the qladmin scripts written in php

ooohhh:) qmail + ldap supports it you'll be amaze how easy virutal domain is done in 
qldap 
very very straight forward

i "think" all the features that you need are supported by qmail+ldap
