Fellow PLUGgers, As the 9th in the series on advanced filesystems for Linux, we have an introduction to SGI's XFS.
IBM developerWorks: Introducing XFS http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-fs9.html I particularly like how the NULL issue was explained. However a word of warning: XFS on machines that nosedive regularly is rather annoying because of how a newly modified text file may get NULLed out. For these nosediving machines ext3 seems to be the best. For servers, however, XFS is awesome. :) --> Jijo -- Federico Sevilla III :: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Network Administrator :: The Leather Collection, Inc.
